Itinerary

Ella & Scenic Train Ride – 12–14 hours (incl. 3 hours by train)

Depart early from the coast and travel by road towards Sri Lanka’s central highlands. Board the train for the spectacular Ella–Nanu Oya (or reverse) journey, passing through tea estates, forests, and mountain villages. Enjoy open windows, cool breezes, and some of the most photogenic scenery in the country.

Depending on timings and train schedules, you’ll also have time to experience the relaxed atmosphere of Ella and its surroundings, with viewpoints, tea plantations, and charming hill‑country landscapes.
